A quote from the book Atlas Shrugged written by Ayn Rand:

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion — when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing — when you see money flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors — when you see that men get richer by graft and pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you — when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice — you may know that your society is doomed."

Minneapolis is anti business and uses tax dollars to subsidize stupidity. Since starting a business in the early 1990's I have seen many of our original manufacturing customers move or go out of business, the manufacturing jobs have not been replaced. My business property taxes have gone from about $2,000 in 1996 to over $8,000 in 2010.  Manufacturing, farming and mining produce products that make the money to pay for all the other jobs. I wish we could export our City Council to China but it would cost more to ship them then they are worth.
